As promised, Electronic Arts has released

a new patch (local US mirror ~ 281MB) for

Battlefield 2, bringing the 3D multiplayer action game by Digital Illusions (and its Special Forces expansion) to version 1.12. This patch insures multiplayer compatibility between original game and add-on. Mirrors:
