This is a straightforward comparison pitting the previous generation GeForce flagship, the GTX 1080 Ti head to head against the RTX 2070 Super and RX 5700 XT in 39 games. A standard GPU test rig was used, comprising a Core i9-9900K clocked at 5GHz with 16GB of DDR4-3400 memory.

For the amount of money each of them costs, I'd expect 2080.

The RTX basically adds ray tracing and some bits and bobs, it's not that revolutionary an upgrade to the GTX 10 series otherwise. Someone rocking a 1080, even non Ti, still has plenty of graphics horsepower. Better to wait for the next generation of ray tracing capable cards, something that you can actually leave ray tracing on with when gaming and wanting decent frame rates.

You are correct. And one can get 1080Ti @ ~350$ or lower so I see no reason to pay for 2080 more than that. 2070 300ish $, 2060 at 230 ish $ and 2080Ti ~500$. But they can still milk people so I don't except price fall anytime soon.

As for raytracing, it's cool. First gen is always about introduction (I remember SSAO introduction, turn it on and loose 50%+ of framerate. Tessellation even worse (hence hardware locked to 32 on AMD cards Very Happy )..
