Nasty Nathan Kirsch of Legit Reviews fame has put together a good read on real world load times when it comes to games. He takes a look at six SSDs and throws in a 10TB spinning drive for good measure. He covers traditional SATA drives as well as M.2 drives, and throws and Intel Optane PCIe drive into the mix. Many

Live in the shithole, have 6000$/year, read this review and think : who the hell wants to waste a month worth of salary to load things 25% faster to play them an hour a day?!
Kids that get money from their parents do.
Personally, I can wait. I CAN afford it, but I just don't care. SSD for a system is fine, still somewhat a luxury in my country and surrounding countries. |

Most modern 2.5-inch external hard drives demonstrate linear write and read speeds of 120-140 Mbit/s. The differences between specific instances are very insignificant due to the fact that all external hard drives in this form factor provide a spindle rotation speed of only 5400 revolutions per minute. And the recording technology in them is exclusively SMR. In addition, a big plus is that you have the ability to recover lost information from your hard drive using DATA RECOVERY SERVICES. Think about it if you decide to purchase it. |
