Harebrained Schemes has released a new video, showing 25 minutes of gameplay footage from BATTLETECH’s single player campaign. The game currently targets a 2018 release and this video will give you an idea of what you can expect from it. Paradox will publish this new turn based mech game in 2018.

Not looking good. It seems to me like a ripoff of the MechCommander source code that was released with updated assets and then made turn-based.
That's all.

I hope you can disable all that sepia shit and the annoying background beeps (WTF is that in a turn-based game anyway).
And finally, let's hope you can turn off the turn-based shit, too.
If you can't command your units without breaking up the game to stupid turns, you are fucked anyway.

Coming to think of it, it feels like a step back from MechCommander 2. I guess I will stick with the MC2 mods out there, like Omni.

Right. Now imagine MechCommander with 2017 assets. (Did you misunderstand something in my message?)

I am seeing the following recipe in this game:
MS releases source code.
Lazy coders pick up source code.
Lazy coders update the engine to DX9 or DX11.
Lazy coders update all assets.
Lazy coders change a few things (like making it turn-based) so they would not get sued their ass off.
Start selling.
