Downloaded it quickly to see what it's all about.
1. It's a bugfest.
2. It's a fuckup.
Playing it until the first few crashes and deleting it was quicker than downloading it.
So, stay away.
For modders: uses Unreal Engine, so you'll need a good coder on the team.
I'd say we boycott this PoS. Nobody buy it! |

can you elaborate a bit Csimbi?

x86 is buggy as hell, crashes even more.
x64 is better.
Playing in full screen is a call for crashes:
- On load, ALT+TAB, etc.
- I gave up on it after 5 crashes
If you really want to try, play x64 with borderless window. That works fairly well.
As for the game itself:
- very long load times, even on top-notch HW with SSD.
- animations suck
- there are a lot of config settings, but none that matter for me
- game is a step toward HMM3 in terms of hero skill tree, but all in all, it seems like a modded HMM VI rather than a new game.
- campaign is laid out around a table - I could not decide whether it was a good thing or bad in this short time, but definitely weird.
Bottom line: disappointment.
Or, really a beta (which is ok to disappoint). |

Thank you.
I am looking at it to pass me some time, I am not expecting a masterpiece (no HOMM was that good imho, I was just not that much into it, I liked Disciples way more and atm I like King's Bounty tons more) but I wanted to know about the crashes because that is a real deal breaker.
I read in latest AMD drivers changelog that they fixed some crash issues in HOMM VII. If you have an AMD GPU, maybe that had something to do with crashes?! |

I am on NVidia GTX 870.
I think the best HMM game was HMM3.
The only think that comes close was the WoG mod.
Yeah, I like Disciples, too, but the combat in HMM3 is far better. |
