Microsoft corporation has approached Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to start talks about a possible acquisition. KitGuru reports that talks started a few months ago. Exact proposal details are unknown, as are the results of the talk. KitGuru estimates AMD's value at $1.81 billion, which is well within the range of Micros

I have heard this or similar rumors off and on for the last few years. It's certainly an intriguing idea. Would be interesting to see how something like this might affect Intel and Nvidia.
If what I remember holds correct, what a lot of people have to realize is that Intel would have to approve changes to the cross-platform license agreements with AMD if Microsoft scooped them up. I doubt Intel would object though. |

Well I think that would be bad for everyone and unfair for competition. It will singularlize PC. It will also likely stiffle other OS's like Linux. |
