Another story of microstransactions gone wrong as a kid spent $4,500 on one of the FIFA titles.
ing $100 was as easy as clicking a button, there were no barriers, and it didn't feel like real money even though it had a dollar sign on the screen. My wife and I accept our responsibility in this. We should have paid mu

Similar thing happened with my oldest. He was playing that crap Hunter game and he spent hundreds of dollars on items in the game. thankfully the game company gave me back my money and I promised them their software would be removed and never be installed again. As it was I told my son not to install it but he said it was all free and my wife gave consent. He didn't realize they were soaking my visa card. We heavily scrutinize everything now when he is on. |

Haha, why would anyone give their kid access to a credit card?
They make prepaid cards for a reason.
Instead of a content rating, these games should come with an intelligence rating. |

I didn't give him access to my CC. Steam did. Steam does not request a password when you make purchases. All there is a is a checkmark. Playstore on Google now asks for password. It happened on there with that BS game Angry Birds.
I don't use CC usually with Steam. These days pretty much Steam Cards.
Some of these games do not make it clear that the fake money in-game is real money. You and I will know, but not a kid. My kid(s) are now up to speed on how the BS in-game buying system works. |
