Tom, there was nothing to be impressed with.
The Falcon looks nice, but then again, I'd expect that with CGI in 2014.
That lightsaber looks very much out of place. It falls into the 'WTF' category.
It does not seem to be even close to groundbreaking. But then again, none of the new ones were. They were "just another SW flicks". |

The light saber is a Crossguard lightsaber, it's from the expanded universe lore. It's not new. Just rarely seen. |

Considering everyone and their pet poodle has an option on everything these days + a mili-second device to communicate it with across the planet instantly... Teaser looks fine actually but of course it gonna be an incredible challenge to re-write everything over the last 2-3 decades since RotJ when the entire community had such fantastic novels which continued the SW lore. Expectations are gonna be stratospheric for this one but how to seriously satisfy them? |

Oh but they and their pet poodles will still come out and bitterly complain wiping out their "manly shafts of light" to then storm all gov't offices demanding proper continuity. Star Wars is such the fantasy religion ya know! 1st World has nothing better to waste on its over-luxurious freedoms then to complain about so many trivial matters. |

Well, that's true. Sadly. |
