I guess it's because it's not a patch; you download complete files.

There was another game a while ago that god a much bigger patch. Was it Rage? I might be wrong...

HAHA that's a whole game download, not a patch. BF also has had some nasty big patches.. Sign of a great game with a patch that big. roflmao.
