Although you may be correct with your statement about VALVe’s priority with there titles when you take into consideration that CSS is still missing loads of fixes and additional content it should have been originally released with what does that say about valve support in general?

Not to mention the "Friends" feature of Steam.

As for DoD:S, 4 maps on release? I don’t really care about the ridiculous argument that it only costs $20 USD, does that mean these people that are satisfied with this substandard pap will just lap it up when CS:2 is finally released in a few years (if ever) VALVe can just sit back and laugh themselves silly by releasing a DIY title with no maps?

^^ Sorry if this comes across as a rant but I dont believe its an unfocused or undeserved complaint against VALVe.
