The future of PC gaming in the living room.

Wrong.

Give me my 27inch 16:10 and I'll get one.

the new benchmarks put the 2015 MacBook on par in terms of sheer numbers with a 2011 i7 MacBook Air.

PC computing power is doubled every year. That's four years, so it's 2^4, meaning it should be 32x faster, lol
This is so Apple.

No surprises here.

Windows XP Still No. 2 Operating System

No surprises here, either.
I don't know why MS was thinking cutting patches would force people buy into WinDOS 8.

Microsoft says that open sourcing Windows is "definitely possible"

"Every conversation you can imagine about what [we] should do with our software - open versus non-open versus services - has happened."
And it's closed source. So what does it matter what Russinovich is ranting about?

Not really. You both got the content and the basis of moore's law wrong:

Quote:

The complexity for minimum component costs has increased at a rate of roughly a factor of two per year. Certainly over the short term this rate can be expected to continue, if not to increase. Over the longer term, the rate of increase is a bit more uncertain, although there is no reason to believe it will not remain nearly constant for at least 10 years.
[emphasis added]

G. Moore, 1965

The density of IC's double every 24 months. That doesn't in any way mean double the processing power every year.

The macbook is also a lot less square inches of integrated circuits, so it's fine that the benchmark places them equal. the main board looks a bit like a raspberry pi in size.

If this is regard to Steambox. I think you are wrong. Not saying Steambox in particular but a PC attached to your TV, yes. I've been doing it for years and people are catching on right now.

Steambox is dumb, I forfeit all my previous support. Pay that much for a cutdown PC with probably crap parts?! Right. I suspect it won't do very well when released.
