seems like noscript blocks the shit out of it...
even though the script for it is allowed...
tested on another newer firefox with noscript completely disabled and it works... only I feel dirty after all those ads everywhere,.. 
will ask the noscript dev to look into it as there doesn't seem to be any option that gets it working short of complete disabling noscript |

| Ya good luck with that. I stopped using NoScript. It's too harsh, site works fine for me with just adblock. |
