Microsoft's final copy of Windows 8 leaked online back in early August and pirates have been battling to work around Microsoft's activation technology ever since. Early attempts involved the use of third-party Key Management Services (KMS) servers that would activate a copy for 180 days, requiring a re-activation every

Activating Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with media center for free with legitimate key!

Yes you heard it right, its possible now just follow some of these simple steps:

1). Activate your copy of windows with a MAK or KMS method (Since MAK keys are harder to find and are used up early so i will tell you only KMS method!).

2). To activate windows using KMS server, run Command Prompt (CMD) as Admin and enter the following in the given order:
slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
slmgr /skms fourdeltaone.net:1688
slmgr.vbs -ato
slmgr /ckms

NOTE:
1). XXXXX is the Generic Volume key for Windows 8 Pro.
2). If the server is running then you will be activated for 180 days.

More working KMS servers:
lunar21.no-ip.org
kmsz1.no-ip.org:1688
kms.columbia.edu:1688

For "lunar21.no-ip.org" server, set the time zone at GMT+02.00 Cairo or something no further than 4 hours away from the Cairo timing, then synchronize the time.

3). Visit this official site and get your legit free key for an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro with Windows Media Center.

4). Now right click on extreme lower left corner of your screen and go to "System".

5). Click on "Get more features with a new edition of Windows" and select "I already have a product key", enter the key and follow the online procedure to make your Windows legitimately activated!

Requirement: RTM Microsoft Windows 8 Pro (x86/x64)

NOTE: Free upgrade offer is valid till 31 January 2013, so hurry up!

Help Notes:

1). To check key PID use The Ultimate PID Checker or visit this site

2). For license management use Advanced Tokens Manager or Microsoft Toolkit

3). If you install windows again then you have to follow these procedures again or backup your license using license management software!

4). After this activation your copy of windows becomes retail edition.

5). To be on the legal side and avoid all these hassels, buy yourself a Genuine copy of Windows 8 Pro at $14.99 Razz

If you liked the software then please purchase it to support its developers!

Please do not request, post or share any key and serial, especially unique keys of paid applications. Sharing of Generic OEM_SLP keys of Windows OS are allowed since they are universal at pre-installed systems.

I wouldn't use Windows 8 if Microsoft paid me. I'm sticking with 7 and either waiting for Windows 9 or maybe try to make the move to Linux (Ubuntu).

Actually, I kinda like the faster boot time (I don't have SSD) Very Happy.
And by using Start8 and uninstall most of the junk apps, it feels just like Win7, never seen the new start menu again for weeks now.
But then again, it may not be worth most people's trouble.

I wouldn't use it because it's not a better product. It's not faster or does anything remotely different. I'd still be using XP if the x64 version had up to date drivers as there would be little incentive. Nothing has changed much since Windows 2000/XP. Stability was a primary concern on 98se and 95 which was corrected with win2k and xp for the most part. I still have hard drives from ten years ago that run fine.

XP64 booted in under twenty seconds consistently. Windows 7 does the same. If you need your computer to boot that quickly you should be leaving it on 24/7 and possibly using hibernation/sleep instead. SSD's make boot time even more trivial.

Why do I have to upgrade my hardware that's perfectly fine when I need it to just browse the web or play some games? Many games have issues with 2GB limits still so why does the OS need so much ram these days? I can't slim the newer versions down without major effort and headache to make them comparable.

I'll be happy to upgrade to anything as long as it's compelling and worthwhile. Home users don't require much and most of what's put in goes to waste. Windows 8 goes a step further by obfuscating the way things have been done for twenty years all because they want to tap the mobile market. There's no reason to upgrade passed XP for home users except for drivers. Most people at home would be fine (some exceptions usually work related or hobby).
