If you're low on cash and high on resourcefulness, you may find this guide handy. X-bit Labs has put up a guide to modding the Radeon X800 Pro into a Radeon X800 XT.

Quote:
Some RADEON X800 PRO graphics processors can be modified into the RADEON X800 XT chips, whereas others cannot, as quite a lot of unlucky experiences revealed. Even though the yields of the RADEON X800 PRO seem to be pretty fine, yields of graphics processors with 16-pipelines deserve better, as a result, only a part of ATI RADEON X800 PRO products can really be turned into more powerful solutions.

OK, all I need now is a Radeon X800 Pro card and I'm ready to do this! News spotted on VE3D.com.

I'm not really too sure about these sorts of mods, what do they do to the stability of the card?

Seems reliable and stable?
Irl, you have a pretty 50% chanche in succeeding and ofcourse a nice 50% of failing.

But if you succeed in unlocking the pipes then you are pretty much set to go with green lights on.
