Spit at bees before they get close, and then jump-kick them.
Spiders have to be rolled over first and then stomped on.
Guards are a major problem; if they see you, you can't roll over them. You need to rush up and hit them when their backs are turned.
In the final river battle, shoot the balloons toward the wooden dam. Also, be sure to blow up the land near the doll so you can get it in the water and retrieve it after the battle.
