Cracking the Meta Progression Formula

You cannot build a strong city without Meta Progression Points. These
points allow you to upgrade your most vital stat, which is City
Durability. Understanding how the game calculates these points serves
as your first step toward efficiency.
Many players waste time destroying special objects within a stage. While
this looks fun, the game only awards you a single point for each destroyed
object. This creates a terrible return on investment. Instead, the game
calculates your points based primarily on the distance your town travels.
You need to keep moving, and you need to crank up the difficulty.
The difficulty setting acts as a massive multiplier for your final score.
* Hard Difficulty: Boosts your score by 50%.
* Expert Difficulty: Doubles your score with a 100% multiplier.
* Nightmare Difficulty: Triples your score with a 200% multiplier.
The math dictates a simple strategy. As soon as you have unlocked enough
upgrades to survive, you must leave the lower difficulties behind. Staying
on a lower difficulty wastes your time because you miss out on these
massive multipliers. You should pour every point you earn into City
Durability to ensure your town survives longer, travels further, and banks
even more points.
