How to Unlock Extinction Mode:
------------------------------
1.Start the Campaign under Regular difficulty or higher. "Extinction Mode" will not unlock under Recruit.
2.Complete the first four (4) missions. Finish "Ghost Stories", "Brave New World", "No Man’s Land", and "Struck Down".
3.Finish the fourth mission and return to the main menu to see the new selection; Extinction Mode.
Modern Warfare Reference:

In the mission "Atlas Falls," you'll breach a recreational room. There, you
should see an arcade machine called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Zelda and Doctor Who easter eggs:

During the “Federation Day” campaign mission, after you enter the “CARANI” door, you can find a trophy in the shape of The Doctor's TARDIS with the words "Award for Largest Interior with Smallest Exterior", and next to it a Zelda rupee-shaped trophy with the words "for most bushes cut and pots smashed". There's also a trophy poking fun at the whole "world ending in 2012" event.
Ghillie suit:
-------------
To unlock the Ghillie suit in Multiplayer, select "Weapon Challenges" to see if the "Chrome Barrel Master" challenge is active. If it says "Challenge Inactive", go to "Operations" and spend one Squad Point to get new challenges. Repeat this process until the "Chrome Barrel Master" challenge is active. Once done, complete the "Chrome Barrel Master" challenge to unlock the Ghillie suit.
Extinction mode: Exploding stuffed alien dolls:

Start Chapter 1, "Point Of Contact" and collect a sniper rifle. Find the "Gil's Lodge Motel" neon sign. Use the sniper rifle and shoot the letters "L", "O", and "L" (in order) in the word "Lodge" on that sign. The message "LOL" will appear in the center of the screen to confirm correct entry. For a short period of time, any alien shot will explode into golden alien stuffed dolls.
Alien dolls easter egg:

While playing Chapter 1: Point Of Contact in Extinction mode, grab the sniper rifle and find the "Gil's Lodge Motel" neon sign in the first area of the game. Shoot the letters "L", "O", and "L" (in order) in the word "Lodge" on that sign with the sniper rifle. If done correctly, the message "LOL" will appear in the center of the screen and any alien shot will temporarily explode into golden stuffed alien dolls. Note: This doesn't always work.
Easy "Sprinter" achievement:
----------------------------
This can only be done in Extinction mode. You first must destroy all 12 hives to unlock the computer that initiates the exfiltration countdown. The computer will spawn right next to the last hive, and all players have to activate it simultaneously. You will then have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to get back to the helicopter in the starting area. Meteorite barricades will block your way, but they will automatically fall apart after 30 seconds, and there are only two of them. You will also be attacked by many Rhinos. They are heavily armored -- so use armor breaking ammo to kill them. Fully upgraded sentry guns are very
helpful, as they distract and damage the Rhinos. If your health gets low, deploy fully upgraded armor vests. Armor can be especially useful if you are running and a Rhino attacks you from behind. Make sure all players have armor vests in their loadout to avoid going down.
Secret music on Federation Day:

There is hidden music that plays during the Federation Day level of the campaign. After rappelling down the building, head downstairs into one of the office sections of the building and kill the enemies. Listen carefully to hear an instrumental version of the song that plays at the end of the game, by Eminem. It is easier to hear if you have a nice headset, so be sure to listen carefully.

Devastation: Achievements
Complete the following achievements to unlock Xbox Live Gamerscore points.
Big Game Trapper (20 points) - Use a hypno trap to turn a Rhino friendly in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
Come Up For Air (30 points) - Reach the top deck in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
Deforestation (20 points) - Kill 15 Seeder Turrets in one game in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
Egg-stra Devastation! (20 points) - Complete the Egg-Stra XP challenge and then destroy a hive in the Devastation DLC package.
Inquisitive Mind (30 points) - Find all of the Intel in Mayday.
Mayday Completionist (30 points) - Complete all Challenges and kill the Kraken in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
Survived Mayday (30 points) - Kill the Kraken for the first time in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
The Architect (20 points) - Successfully build all of the Schematics in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
The Belly of the Beast (20 points) - Reach the cargo area in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.
Upping the Ante (30 points) - Kill the Kraken using a Relic in Mayday in Regular or Hardcore difficulty.

No Man Left (20 points) - Escape with all four players.
Sprinter (20 points) - Reach the exfil chopper with 1 minute and 30 seconds or more remaining on the clock.
Throttled Escape (10 points) - Escape using a relic.
Trash Picker (20 points) - Scavenge 40 items in a single game.
