Saving the game
When the game is reloaded inside of an encounter, your submarine will always be on the surface. Save the game at the start of an encounter when you are out of range of the enemy ships to prevent getting killed instantly when that save is reloaded.
When a game is saved in the middle of combat with your sub under water, you will be on the surface when the game is reloaded. This will expose you to enemy fire, and reveal your position. This means that encounters must be played from near the start to the end.
