Different sound on start-up
To have a different sound on start-up, hold Z while the GameCube logo is forming. It's much different then the original.

When you start your GCN, hold the 'A' button and the logo spins around.

Set system time and options:
Hold A while powering on the system.

Alternately, hold A while the cube rolls around the screen.

Access System Menu with Game in System
Normally, when you turn on the Gamecube without a game inside, it'll bring you to the system menu, where you can change the day/time, memory card info, etc. You can access it if you have a game in the system when you turn it on, too! Just hold A when you turn on the system. When the Gamecube logo comes on, it'll spin really fast and morph into the system menu.
