As expected, Apple unveiled both mobile devices at a media event in San
Francisco today and geeks around the world are no doubt already
counting their pennies in anticipation.
The iPhone 5 will be available next Friday, September 21, in
16GB ($199), 32GB ($299), and 64GB ($399) models. All prices include a
two-year contract. The iPhone 4S will still be available, at a newly
discounted price of $99 for the 16GB (with a two-year contract) or free
for the 8GB (with a two-year contract). The iPhone 5's new featureset
includes:
18% thinner and 20% lighter than iPhone 4S
A larger 4-inch Retina display
All-new A6 chip
8 megapixel iSight camera
iOS 6 pre-loaded including Siri support
New 'Lightning' connector
(adapters will be available so your new iDevice works with your old
iHome)
The iPod Touch 5th Generation has also been revamped with
plenty of additional horsepower under the hood. The hood itself has
also been changed as the 32GB ($299) and 64GB ($399) models will be
available in six colors. The iPod Touch 5th Generation will be released
in October and here’s what you can expect to get:
A larger 4-inch Retina display
All-new dual-core A5 chip
5 megapixel iSight camera
iOS 6 pre-loaded including Siri support
New 'Lightning' connector
(adapters will be available so your new iDevice works with your old
iHome)

At least there's a bigger difference between the models now, although not enough to justify buying one even from a fanboy perspective. However, a 'fanboy' is a rare breed when it comes to crApple, because zombies is what the company needs - going from one product to the other without much of a thought. Whenever I sell an Apple product I think about the delicious tears of that person... And the fact that I get more cash the more I sell sweetens the deal.

Obviously they copied Samsung. Lawsuit!
Seriously: fuck Apple. Buncha sue-happy assholes. Without the Turtleneck Overlord cracking the whip on them, they'll be right back in the crapper in ten years.
Apple has a business plan in place for 5 years (thanks to Steve Jobs) but after that time, yep, I think they are sunk. Good riddance. I hope I can attend the burn-down-apple-hq event too!

Tom fyi the 4s is faster then the g3 in most areas, however the screen alone on the g3 is epic enough to buy for me,
I currently own an ip4 and see no need to upgrade to the ip5, i would upgrade to the g3 just for the screen alone.
This new iphone is a joke and i feel bad for the people that think this is a great innovation.

Never had an Apple, never will.
But, I am generally faithful to the brands I like (earlier Nokia and now Blackberry) so I can understand your frustration when you expect the next big deal and you're just disappointed.
You have to move on.
It's either:
- Android (you can't go wrong with Samsung I hear)
- Blackberry (you have to wait a bit for BBOS 10, but from what I read so far it sounds like the next big thing)
- Nokia (good hardware but WinDOS sucks - just wait until someone figures out how to put Linux or Android on it)
- a cheap Apple/Android copy
- wait another year for the next Apple product and hope for the best (unless Tom burns down the Apple HQ in the meantime).
It was predicted by many that with Steve Jobs gone, the company would go downhill. Well, if I had stocks, I would start selling them while the prices are still up.

Now that Ericsson is out of Sony/Ericsson, I'd be very cautious before buying their upcoming products.
Remember, these are the guy giving us those sub-par TVs.
