Borderlands 2 is complete - briefly
(hx) 05:58 AM EDT - Jul,21 2012
Gearbox Software has just announced that Borderlands 2 is finished, and it has been send for certification. Borderlands 2 is schedule to launch on September 21 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Today, we have some exciting new to share about Borderlands 2 -- the game is headed to certification!

This means that the game's on-disc content has been locked down and will be thoroughly tested to ensure it is ready for release -– in other words, the game is finished and we cannot make any further changes to the game. As such, the team is now shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts, including the Mechromancer: the new character class that will be released as FREE downloadable content to members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after launch.

The Mechromancer is just one of the many bonuses for members of the Premiere Club, which can be joined by pre-ordering Borderlands 2 from a participating retailer in advance of its release on September 18 in North America and September 21 Internationally. For a list of those participating retailers and more details about Premiere Club benefits, please visit our Borderlands 2 FAQ and borderlands2.com/preorder

On behalf of everyone involved in the development of Borderlands 2, thank you for your love and support -- your passion for what we create is what fuels our effort!

Great news.
Already sold out!??!

Apathy Curve(02:17 PM EDT - Jul,21 2012 )
How can they sell out of something they haven't started producing yet?

Where in this article does it say anything about being sold out?

The web site linked in the article.

The Limited Edition is sold out.

Here's hoping this will be a good successor.

Actually this one and Torchlight II are the two highest ranking games on my wish list.

I was amazed at amount of suckadge that borderlands 1 had. "rage" owned it all the way. After BL 1 I wont even bother to pirate BL 2. It will be same as BL1 but with new missions. Meaning - it will suck on new maps.

Borderlands is 2009.
Rage is 2011.
Two years is a lot of time in PC gaming.

IMHO, Rage was ok, but Borderlands was better. The replay value of Borderlands is superior.

@psolord
I saw an early beta of Torchlight 2. I liked it, but don't raise the bar too high.

I know that two games are 2 years apart but one just sets the mood as it should be, other one doesn't imo. BL1, for me, got boring and repetitive after few hours into it. Too much "running" around for my taste...

I was same with BL1 however I found the energy to finish it some how and had zero interest to play it a second time. As a result I have no interest in BL2. Rage sucked as did Duke Nukem Forever. How can it be determine that BL2 is gonna be any good beyond a few specially selected video's. Just a lot of desperate PC gamers out there is what I see.
