Ahh 1942 how I remember the days and weeks playing online in 2002.. such a classic at the time. Loving all the maps but especially the beachhead (storming Nazi controlled shorelines) and naval ones (controlling massive 10 inch battleship guns laying waste to a point lay'ed down by a colleague). Yeah current game have all the nice bling and flair/eye candy but its still the same damn thing. Whats evolved is the graphics quite nicely thrown in with some extra gameplay addons/goodies but under the hood its the same for the last 10years.

It's not "the same for the last 10 years," it's considerably worse. BF1942 was a better game than either of its descendents.

Well eye-candy is considerably better but yes the actual entertainment has been "dumbed down" under the scheme I like to coin "cater to all, classic to none".

Oh its MUCH WORSE now: now you have to buy seperate addons/loot/items just to be competitive. :D P2W models are the scourge of modern gaming. Nothing is a complete product: its all modular and modding is dying which is such a tragedy.
