Risen 2 Demo - demo|
| (hx) 05:07 PM EDT - Jun,24 2012 | Deep Silver has announced that a playable demo for Risen 2: Dark Waters is now available via Steam allowing you to try out this Risen sequel developed by Piranha Bytes.
Wednesday 21st June 2012 - Hampshire, UK/.. Rig your ship and fly your pirate flag - Deep Silver today announced the release of the PC demo for the pirate RPG "Risen 2: Dark Waters"!
The demo allows players to experience the beginning of the game - the world is in turmoil, the Titans have devastated everything in their path with unstoppable force. Only the city of Caldera, where the headquarters of the Inquisition are located, offers a place of refuge for the people. It is repeatedly attacked by sea monsters, and supply ships are sunk en route. Nobody knows how long the walls will hold; food and weapons are gradually running out. The nameless hero sets out on a mission to put an end to the sea monsters once and for all.
During his adventurous journey he not only faces new and immense challenges, he also meets old acquaintances who help him on his quest.

I liked it despite that it's a step back from Risen 1 in several areas.
I have my reservations about the ending, but no game is perfect.
| psolord | (08:56 AM EDT - Jun,25 2012 ) | I recently finished it as well. Enjoyed it greatly.
Never played Risen 1 for some strange reason though, so I cannot do a comparison.
I also did a gameplay video a while back.

| Tom | (02:10 PM EDT - Jun,25 2012 ) | | Ya game looks good, just the price I find is high. When it drops in price I'll probably get it since I finished the first one. Nice vid too, it does look very decent despite some poor reviews I read. | |

I found only vague references to the first one.
| psolord | (04:20 PM EDT - Jun,25 2012 ) | CJS keys sells the steam key for 25 euros. Half the price it costs at Steam directly.

The game made a grave to start where it did. I was greatly frustrated at the beginning. It becomes a very different game later on. You need at least 6 hours of gameplay to really get into the game. After that it's great.
Not very deep scenario though. Quite interesting anyway and it does have a healthy dose of humor.
| Csimbi | (09:04 PM EDT - Jun,25 2012 ) | | Yeah, you need to "get into it". If you get over the beginning, chances are good that you'll like it. | |
| Tom | (01:20 PM EDT - Jun,26 2012 ) | | When the price drops, I'll be there. I refuse to pay $60 for this game. | |
| Csimbi | (03:11 PM EDT - Jun,26 2012 ) | Yeah, that's too much. 19.99 should be ok, 9.99 would be perfect.
But, I got a better deal than that by playing at the neighbour ;-)
| Tom | (03:25 PM EDT - Jun,26 2012 ) | | Ha that always works. Ya I was pretty disappointed since I remember getting the first one for 20 bucks. | |
