IE crashes at Microsoft Surface presentation - tech

No wonder web developers and even companies hate IE. I have nothing against Microsoft, Windows 7 is a brilliant OS, but they need to give up hopes on IE and design a browser from scratch. Here you can see a rather embarrassed presenter from Redmond showing off Internet Explorer on the Surface tablet when it freezes on him. How do you do a Ctrl + Alt + Del on a tablet?

WTF is surface? Windows mobile or what? I was going to try a windows 7.5 mango phone but the lack of SD support is a deal breaker. SD support also allows flashing so it's hard to pass up if you decide you're bored with 7.5 :).
I imagine most window users on mobile devices will be using dolphin hd or mini ;p.

M$ FAIL! That's why they are $hit at phones and tablets with their OS on them = dead sales.
Surface is just a crap disguise of what everyone knows as a tablet. If they call it 'tablet' they get laughed out of every demonstration and sales pitch around the world -just like the vid shows.
No wonder Android and IOS are the world leaders and call their products Tablets or smart phones. cause they are dedicated OS's
Windows just stick to PCs and patches.

This demonstration tell's it all! You gotta have at-least two of those surfaces. When one crashed get the other one

Should have stuck two together. One facing the audience showing pre-recorded footage so it couldn't crash!!
Never work with children, animals and M$ hardware.

I think it would have been perfect with a BSOD and press CTRL-ALT-DEL! LOL!
IE sucks and has for a long time. Long Live Firefox!

Anyway, people will be able to WORK and have PRODUCTIVITY with a tablet now.
Not just play with nice icons in a fashion tablet gadget...

You're kidding right?
Windows have just 2% of the worlds smartphone market cornered in the last quarter. Google's Android accounted for 56% and Apple 23%.
I don't know why M$ bother, they are not renowned for hardware and why now for an attempt at a tablet? The market is set out and reliable. M$ attempt at phones was a complete failure (stats above) The amount of bloat and security needed on this will be crazy. Hackers will have a field day!
Nigh on every news channel and sports channel uses an Apple iPad, and you say people will have productivity......where you been hiding.
Android rules the roost because of open source, the galaxy s3 outsells the iPhone 4s. Android collectively outsells IOS, Apple ipad can't do widescreen nor flash, yet continues to sell.
M$ surface will, maybe, sell in the US, but is dead in the water outside due to the obvious first factors; it has a windows OS based on PC and that's going to be licensed out,Expensively. The tablet has no mass market. and people have no faith in security and stability of windows products. Why would I want a tablet based on windows 8? I can cart about a net book that can do all things better than a windows tablet!
Who the hell wants to touch square 'tiles' on a boxy tablet anyway......whatever.

If you want security, stay away from Apple.

I would say if you want security on anything you need to do it yourself. Doesn't matter what you use if you don't take matters into your own hands and educate yourself on how and why to do things to meet your security goals it won't matter in the end.
