Following
yesterday's announcement, 3D Realms has released
the promised Duke Nukem Forever teaser trailer!. According to George
Broussard of developer 3D Realms, the approximately minute-long video was
originally created internally for the purpose of holiday festivities and marks
the beginning of further media unveilings surrounding the notoriously
long-in-development first- person shooter. The clip includes gameplay
footage, Jon St. John returning as the voice of Duke, and the music of game
composers Jeremy Soule and Julian Soule. It runs around a minute and ten seconds
and is available in five
variants, covering 720p and 480p resolutions. Mirrors:
AtomicGamer,
CGO,
FileFront,
GameTrailers,
GamesFire,
GH,
PixelRage,
Primotech,
VE3D.
"The release is still 'when it's done,' but you can expect more frequent
media releases and we're not changing engines again and we have considerable
work behind us,"
Broussard
told Shacknews today when asked about a release date. Platforms for the game
were not confirmed, but when asked today whether Xbox 360 in addition to PC is
likely, Broussard's response sounded positive though not definitive. "I don't
think we've stated that yet for the record but your observations are probably
noted," he conceded.

And I bet the game still won't be released this decade.
They prolly took a good long look at crysis and were like: "Now THIS is the engine we should use"

As in the words of "The Wolf" from the classic movie Pulp Fiction once said "Lets Not Start Sucking Each Others Dicks" in other words lets not get excited. Anyone can make a snazzey FMV, i want to see ingame footage.

Look closer pal... this is all done with the game engine. Nothing pre-rendered there !

Looks like Doom3 engine to me. But hey, they can always switch engines. Plus, there have been DNF teasers before, like 10 yeras ago. :D

Cryogenic Duke looks like he's had his ass pumped full of steroids!
Agree, i want GAMEPLAY footage, not a growling skinned freak from Doom3.

Dude we only managed to see a millisecond of the ingame footage the rest is duke rendered alone ! Why do you ask ? well i can only summise that they are no where near completion and if they actually showed you ingame footage that lasted more than 1 second you may see some issues that would alarm you such as ;
1) The background scenary
2) Enviroment models
3) Character animations
4) Level of detail and lighting dynamics
5) Level of sophistication used due to the Engine
6) Smooth transition of the characters and environment and its impact on the games performance such as fps.
Finally rendering DN on a black background look sweet is no reflection on the actual in game peformance as this is achieved by exporting the video from a 3d application, you get my drift !
