  • Natural Selection 2 alpha release - The release of the first alpha version of Unknown Worlds Entertainment sci-fi FPS-RTS hybrid Natural Selection 2 is scheduled for release via Steam later tonight (gameplay trailer) for people who pre-order the $39.95 version of the game. After the alpha build is released at 9 pm Eastern time for those pre-orders tonight the Special Edition will no longer be available for purchase. In addition pre-orders for the regular edition of the game, priced at $19.95, will go up in price after the alpha version is released.

  • Modern Warfare 2 PC Players Pissed Over 'Random' Bans - Between Steam and the Infinity Ward Forums, folks are anxious about the increasing number of Valve Anti-Cheat bans in MW2 over the past week. The words "innocent" and "victim" play heavily, tugging at the Valve heart-strings (or not), as a result of two other words which folks are seeing a lot of lately... "Cheat Detected". Someone has even made a YouTube video about the issue (tee hee so lame).
  • Pachter: Online Multiplayer is Going Subscription - Are ready for subscription based multiplayer? Michael Pachter thinks it'll happen soon.
  • Pirates of the Burning Sea Expansion Going Live in August - Flying Lab Software has announced that they are releasing Power & Prestige, the major content update for their MMORPG Pirates of the Burning Sea, on August 24th, 2010.
  • R.U.S.E. To Release On September 7 - After what seemed to be a pretty successful free R.U.S.E. weekend on Steam, a release date announcement has been made. Watch for R.U.S.E. to hit store shelves on September 7, 2010.
  • First Street Fighter X Tekken Gameplay Footage Leaked - Ready for some more SF X Tekken news? There is now some shaky-cam footage of the gameplay available via YouTube. It's apparently going to be a tag-based fighter that allows for some truly spectacular team-up moves.
  • PS3 Revolutionizes Netflix Streaming; Adds Obvious Search Feature - Joystiq is reporting that an update has just been pushed to the PS3 Netflix player which adds the ability to search through the entire Netflix Instant Streaming library. Of course, you still have to have the Netflix disc inserted to use the functionality on the PS3--for now. But this is a long-overdue feature that 360 owners won't be seeing until at least November.
  • Gearbox Software Now Hiring - Looking for a job? Check out the new job postings at Gearbox Software, developers of fine titles such as Borderlands and the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines.

LOL! This is old news already. People were given free copies of L4D2. Hahaha. I don't know, but that's just another slap in the face in my opinion. L4D franchise is a fucking borefest.
