- Torque Game Engine Demo Updated - Garage Games has released
a new
1.2 demo version of its Torque game engine, the engine that was the basis
for Tribes 2. The 1.2 demo includes a full feature overview including details
on terrain, interior, water and the mesh rendering engine features, Torque
Script, GUI System & Editor and the award-winning Torque Networking layer.
- Medieval: Total War Viking Invasion Patch v2.01 - A new patch (5.7MB) for Medieval:
Total War is now available, updating Creative Assembly's real-time/turn-based
strategy game to version 2.01. Mirrors:
3D Gamers,
FileFront, and
Worthplaying.
- Condition Zero: Going Gold - Despite all the bad things going on
with Half-Life 2, the sequal to Counter-Strike (Condition Zero) is going gold.
This means that it will be available on Steam and at retail on November 18th.
- LucasArts President Resigns - With little warning,
LucasArts president Simon Jeffery resigned yesterday. The company issued a
brief statement this afternoon saying that Jeffery "has decided to leave the
company and return to his native England with his family." No official reason
for the exit was given. Mike Nelson, LucasArts' vice president of finance and
administration, will serve as acting general manager until a replacement is
found.
- Neverwinter Nights Gold Edition Announced -
The
Neverwinter Nights Gold Edition game will feature all of the most
compelling aspects of Neverwinter Nights gaming including an extensive 80-hour
official campaign, which is also playable in multiplayer mode, as well as the
complete first official expansion pack Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of
Undrentide. Additional features include, a new extensive single player
campaign, new skills, including Tumble and Appraise; new feats, such as Divine
Might, Great Cleave and Bullheaded; new weapons, such as Holy Water Flasks and
Choking Powder; five new prestige classes, including the Blackguard,
Shadowdancer, and Assassin; new monsters from the D&D universe, including the
Pit Fiend, Cockatrice, Sphinx and Manticore; and more than 50 additional
spells. NWN Gold is slated for release this November.
- Battlefield Command -> Wartime Command - Codemasters
announced that
Wartime Command: Battle For Europe 1939-1945 is the new title for
Battlefield Command, the stunning World War II tactical real time strategy
game from Russian developers 1C Company in Russia. The game development
project has been retitled from Battlefield Command to give it prominence in a
cluttered market of similar product brands. Wartime Command will launch for PC
in the spring of 2004.
