- Star Trek: Bridge Commander Preview - Games Domain written a new
preview of Star Trek: Bridge Commander based on playing a beta build
of this upcoming space sim by Totally Games.
- HOMM IV Preview - GameSpy has posted a preview of
Heroes of Might and Magic IV, based on playing a beta version of 3DO's upcoming turn based
strategy game.
- Independence Lost Info - Bonusweb has posted a short
Q&A with Bohemia Interactive's Marek Spanel, but he didn't revelaed anything new
:) He said "I won't tell you whether it is a datadisk or a standalone project. We
will inform you later this year; for now, all public information can be found on the
homepage."
- Xbox Interview - CVG has posted an interview with J. Allard as he talks about their upcoming European
launch of the console and other topics
- Oblivion Lost Screenshots - Russian publisher Russobit-M sent
along seven new
screenshots from another FPS they are publishing, Oblivion Lost. This is a tactical
team FPS scheduled for a quarter 2 or quarter 3 release in 2003.
- Star Trek: Armada II patch v1.1 & Tool - Mad Doc Software
has released the patch
v1.1 (12.7MB) for Star Trek: Armada II, their space-based RTS. The patch brings several
gameplay and interface enhancements, a number of multiplayer improvements, bug fixes and
more. In addition, Armada Universe has posted a new version of their Armada Configuration
Manager.
- NY Race patch - There is a new patch for NY Race,
the futuristic arcade racer by Kalisto Entertainment that was inspired by the movie The
Fifth Element. There are no details about this patch.
- Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates patch - This new patch will update the
space strategy expansion to version 2.5.2.5, there are over 80 fixes and adjustments.

- OMF: Battlegrounds Betatesting - The official One Must Fall: Battlegrounds site has
launched sign-ups for the
upcoming beta test of this 3D fighting game.
- Icewind Dale 2? - Virgin Interactive sent out a
release list for Europe, and it includes Icewind Dale 2 scheduled for April 2002.
However there's no official confirmation at this time :( We can only hope it wasn't a typo
:)
- Trainz Goes Gold - Strategy First and Auran announced today that
their new model railroad simulation, Trainz has gone gold. Scheduled for release on
February 12th, 2002, TRAINZ will be distributed by Infogrames throughout North America and
by our other distribution partners for Europe and Asia. In addition, XGR have posted
an interview
with Ieuan Hyde from Auran.
- Stephen King Retiring? - After he publishes five more books, two
of which already are scheduled for 2002 -- including a collection of short stories -- as
well as work on a limited series for ABC, he's
ending his career in publishing, he said. "Then that's it. I'm done. Done
writing books," he told the Times' Kim Murphy. Why? he was asked. "You get to a
point where you get to the edges of a room, and you can go back and go where you've been
and basically recycle stuff," he said.
