this game is getting some good reviews by game critics. not bad since it's a third generation game and could be a bit tired. anyone else played it?

jimbposted - May, 29 2004 - 05:38
i downloaded the demo, but the file "t3main.exe" is corrupt. anyone know where i can get this executable?

tried demo..lags, bad engine(DX2) but game looks interesting though...

oldskoolmanposted - May, 29 2004 - 10:24
Jimb, i got this error too on my windows 98se, use XP instead. Looks like the game won't work on windows 9x/Me

Downloaded from Gamers Hell, works ok on XP

Its not letting me change the controls that or im doing something wrong. How do you change controls?

Jaredposted - May, 29 2004 - 12:46
I can change the other controls but for the movement keys it only lets me set to the joystick.

Nit Pick @ liGhtbluefox- lag has to do with latency. Lag isn't the problem when you're playing single player, it's your Frames Per Second.

posted - May, 29 2004 - 13:21
nit pick but the engine does lag coz its coded by a bunch of chimps. Graphics that good on that tech (unreal) can be made to run so much better (ut2k4).

Bill Gatesposted - May, 30 2004 - 00:55
Hey, nothing wrong with chimps -- they wrote my autobiography !!! =D And who do you think writes the new patches for Windows Update? =)

billyposted - May, 30 2004 - 11:00
concernig the controls, just remove your pad/joystick, and it will be fine... just lame :/

Is this game worth buying then??? the screenshots don't look great but it's given decent reviews on gamespy and gamespot.

LadyNazposted - May, 31 2004 - 12:43
9x is not supported for the game, u have to use xp...that is all over edios' website,...

"Comments from beaverboy - beaver posted - 06:03 AM EDT - May,31 2004 Is this game worth buying then??? the screenshots don't look great but it's given decent reviews on gamespy and gamespot" Decent Reviews! You call 8.3 decent? 8.3 is a good review you moron. And yes this game is worth buying the game rocks.

I have downloaded the demo (twice). None of the two versions would run under Win98 SE (4.10.22222.A. Under XP certainly one version worked fine (t3_demo_uk.exe) I have read somewhere that someone got it working under 98SE. Unsupported means they don't give tech support in case of problems. It shouldn't mean it won't work at all under 98. Can you imagine how many people might have to upgrade to XP? Hey... has Eidos struck a deal with Microsoft?????

Blackstoneposted - Jul, 04 2004 - 18:31
It's pretty much ONLY running properly on XP and sometimes on 2000. Which in my opinion is total Bulls......well you see where I am going. I am VERY disappointed in Edios and may no longer purchase their games.

Blackstoneposted - Jul, 05 2004 - 12:50
Well....after that outburst....we have some wonderful (and brilliant) gamers to thank for getting us ME etc. owners over this edios-given road-block. Check out this link: http://www.eidosinteractive.com/forums/index.html Someone figured out a way to get Thief Deadly Shadows to work on ME!!! You still need a good graphics card, RAM, and all that. But it DOES work!!! Note: Some dedicated gamers figured this out....NOT EIDOS. I still think they are a bunch of unprepared knobs.
