Savage: The Battle for Newerth Demo - demo
(hx) 01:18 PM EDT - Oct,07 2003 - Post a comment / read (5)
As promised last week, iGames Publishing and developer S2 Games have released the demo for the hit RTS/FPS combo - Savage: The Battle for Newerth. Savage shipped to retail stores on September 9th and has an MSRP of $49.99. The demo (Win32 - 143MB  || Linux ~ 155MB) includes two levels of gameplay and introduces players to the Human Race.
"Set in a unique fantasy world eons from now, Savage transports PC gamers to the next level in multiplayer gaming. The result is a truly unique gaming experience that enables the player to opt for either the fast-paced, run-and-gun action of a FPS (playing as a Warrior) or the more cerebral and tactical planning of a RTS (playing as a Commander). Because Savage offers fully developed aspects of each genre, players must work together as a team in order to defeat their opposition. The full game includes both the human and beast races."

My fiend downloaded this game and I played it because I'm a fan of both genres. It's awesome, I've been playing it for two days straight now. The only problem is it's a demo(until I buy it) and a lot of the fun I'm having is as Commander of my team, which means if most are like me, I'm the only one having fun. There is a lot of team work so if you like Team fortress or ANYTHING that isn't just team slayer or team fragfest, and something more strategic than you'll like it
