FileShack has offers the playable single-player demo of James Bond: Nightfire, the upcoming spy first person shooter from Gearbox Software and Electronic Arts . The demo clocks 147MB and contains one mission from the full game.
Demo players will be able to play the Japanese Estate level, which finds Bond trying to defend the turncoat Mayhew from the evil Raphael Drake's Japanese henchmen. The official NightFire website, located at , gives Bond fans an opportunity to receive more information about James Bond 007: NightFire prior to its ship date. Mission updates on the site include concept art, objectives, screenshots, and video clips. The site also contains images and descriptions of key characters and weapons as well as the Aston Martin Vanquish. The Q Lab section will launch shortly, featuring all the in-game gadgets as well as behind-the-scenes information, additional characters, and possibly game hints.

Wanted to take a stab at this game to see how good it is. I enjoyed Goldeneye for N64 way back then. My first impression is thumbs down with definite improvements vastly required. My system is beyond the min specs and I don't have problems with framerates at all. However, I've experienced 1 BSOD, 1 Runtime Error, 1 complete reboot, and 1 kickback to the desktop; and all were separate events. I've given up completely and will be venting my frustration and annoyance at one of the forums dedicated to this game. DirectX up to date, Detonator 43.01 Official, Win2K w/SP3, etc, etc......damn really wanted to like this game but on top of the crashes, horrible A.I., bad voice acting, clipping, and enemies require 5 to 7 shots to kill....even at the head.

i tried it too, and i had all the time lags in the controlling, yeah i know latest updates blabla, but hey do tehy really want me to install the latest beta drivers!?! how often do i ahve to shoot at an enemy, and the movement int eh cutscenes of the characters are terrible sorry. i wanted to like the game, but what i ahve seen fromt that demo, no thanks. i also read in their forum taht hte pc version wont have the possibility to stear vehicles, like in teh console version, they said it was a trade off for multiplayer (and i read the console has a 4 player support anyway), so how cheap is that excuse. i finished no one lives forever 2 last week, and that game is a great game, james bond cant stand up with that game (not to mention that the demo of nolf2 was great too already, only problem they had was the speach problem when installed nimo code package already). So my resumee is simple, spend your money on a game tahts worth it nad not on a game taht is even ripped down for PC. (although this might be the best official james bond game there ever was released yet).

Check out these comments It's a sad thing to have such a great license and possibly a good game concept to go to such a waste.
