(hx) 03:22 PM EST - Nov,22 2017 - Post a comment
Ninja Theory releases its 30th development diary for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, detailing its early reception and a few sales figures since launch. According to Ninja Theory’s records, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice sold over 250,000 copies across both PlayStation 4 and PC in its first week, whereas it was only expected to sell around 150,000 units. Right now, three months after the game’s release, Ninja Theory says that the game has surpassed its break-even point, and has become profitable with over 500,000 copies sold. So far, the game has had a total revenue of $13 million, with a development cycle of three years and an average team size of around 20.

Session Hopes to Revive the Skateboarding Genre - briefly
(hx) 03:19 PM EST - Nov,22 2017 - Post a comment
Session’s KickStarter campaign aims to raise CAD $80,000 (or $62,652 USD) and has already achieved over half of that in a couple days. A prototype demo is also available on the game’s KickStarter page, so players can try it out before deciding if they want to back Session or not. If the game is successfully funded, it will release on PC and Xbox One via each system’s Early Access program. Session has an original control scheme where players use both sticks to control each foot independently to make things feel more real and authentic. The game also features no scoring system as creā-ture Studios doesn’t want to dictate how players skate with “arbitrary point values.” Session will also feature a video editor so players can record their own tricks or those of their friends and share them on social media. The game also hopes to add things like character and board customization, online multiplayer, a park editor, a Story Mode, and Steam Workshop support through some of its campaign’s stretch goals. If Session is a title that is successfully funded and then some, it will definitely be worth keeping an eye on.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Demo - demo
(hx) 03:03 PM EST - Nov,22 2017 - Post a comment / read (1)
Bethesda has announced the release of a free trial for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. This free trial will let gamers play through the entire first level of the game. Naturally, and as with most free trials, those who choose to upgrade to the full version of the game will be able to keep all of their save data. Those interested can download the game’s free trial from Steam.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is one of the most optimized PC games of 2017. MachineGames has offered an FPS that looks great and runs amazingly fast. Thanks to the Vulkan API, the game scales incredibly on more than four CPU threads, even though it does not require a high-end CPU for a constant 60fps experience. Furthermore, the game runs great on both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs (though AMD GPUs will have an edge on this particular title). It also offers an incredible amount of graphics settings to tweak

Assassin's Creed Origins Gets Free Sobek Trial - briefly
(hx) 06:08 PM EST - Nov,21 2017 - Post a comment
Ubisoft has been implementing a series of free in-game events for Assassin’s Creed Origins titled Trials of the Gods. While the first trial pitched Bayek against the iconic dog-faced god Anubis, this time around we get a slightly more obscure deity with Sobek, the crocodile-faced god of water and fertility. Why would you associate fertility with a crocodile you ask? Simply because the ultimate form of fertility in ancient Egypt was the river Nile. The trial starts today and will be available for a week until November 28th. If you want to see what Sobek looks like, the publisher also released a brief trailer showing the giant croc in action. He certainly doesn’t look like he enjoys being shot at.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus mod - mod&map
(hx) 03:49 PM EST - Nov,20 2017 - Post a comment
Modder ‘Methanhydrat’ has released a new mod for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus that lets players adjust, and completely disable, the annoying head bobbing. In addition, this mod allows players to use the dot crosshair regardless of the weapon they are using. This is still a WIP mod, however we strongly suggest downloading it if you can’t stand the head bobbing ‘feature.’

In order to install it, players will have to extract the file dinput8.dll to their main game folder. By default, this folder is: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wolfenstein.II.The.New.Colossus\”. Players will have then to start the NewColossusTweakerGUI.exe to configure the mod as desired, and then start the game.
All heroes Unlocked takes Average Player about 24h - briefly
(hx) 11:28 AM EST - Nov,20 2017 - Post a comment
According to the thread on Reddit, the latest adjustments make it possible to unlock all the characters in the Star Wars action sequel in about 24 hours of play, though there are also warnings that doing so would not be the best use of one's credits, as it will make it harder to level up if you choose to buy nothing but characters.
If you use all the free money you get at the early levels, it's easy to unlock all the heroes, but then you're left with super slow progression for getting actual star cards for all those heroes you just unlocked as well as the troopers, reinforcements, and starships.

Personally, I tried out all the heroes in arcade first, picked my favourite ones that were locked, and only bought them (in my case, Iden and Leia). I don't really even play heroes that much in the first place. I have more fun playing as the reinforcements, mainly the Aerial class. All my crafting parts have gone towards maxing out my Jet Troopers with Tier 4 cards.
Cyberpunk 2077 status - engine is up and running - briefly
(hx) 04:13 AM EST - Nov,20 2017 - Post a comment
In an interview with Puls Biznesu, CD Projekt RED’s Adam Kicinski revealed some new information about Cyberpunk 2077. According to Kicinski, CD Projekt RED has just closed an important stage of production. As Kicinski noted, there have been no recent problems that could affect the production of Cyberpunk 2077, and CD Projekt RED is happy with the results so far. Kicinski also stated that the engine powering Cyberpunk 2077 is up and running. CD Projekt RED had to develop technology specifically for this title. Still, the company will continue working on it and will further develop it.
The engine is up and running. Of course it will be further developed. At each of our games we had to develop technology very well and this time it was the same. It must be appropriate for our needs with the specific title and the world we create and match the capabilities of the devices available on the market. Therefore, the engine needs constant updating – its modifications usually take place to a very late stage.
A few days ago, in an interview with Polish investment site Strefa Inwestorow, Kicinski revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a certain online element. Naturally, and given what is currently going on with all triple-A games, a lot of fans got worried. And it appears that this controversy forced CD Projekt RED to respond via its Twitter account. As CD Projekt RED claimed, Cyberpunk 2077 will be a huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. This obviously does not mean that the game won’t feature any online mode. However, CDPR insisted that it won’t feature any microtransactions and that there won’t be any hidden catches or any bullshit. Players will get what they pay for, and they can expect an experience similar to the one in The Witcher 3.
